Our Wedding will be celebrated in two meaningful parts. We will exchange vows during an intimate ceremony in the mountains on September 18, 2026, then gather in Virginia Beach on October 3, 2026 to celebrate with the friends and family who have shared in our journey and supported us along the way. While the ceremony will be intentionally small, our hearts are full, and the moment will be everything we hoped for, private, meaningful and perfectly us.
Many of you may know that Jesse and I met online through Bumble in December of 2019. What you may not know is that although we connected right away, our first date didn't happen until about a month later. Some might say I was playing hard to get; others know I was simply hesitant because I didn't want to risk going on another bad date, so I stopped responding. About a month later, Jesse posted a photo of a beautiful sunset. Naturally, as a sucker for sunsets, I responded. That sparked conversation, which led to Jesse asking me out on a date. When the day arrived, I was craving brisket lettuce wrap tacos from Calypso and suggested to go there. That night already felt different when Jesse asked if he could pick me up - a offer I oddly accepted despite the fact that he was, at the time still technically a stranger. Thankfully, it turned out to be a very good decision. The date went incredibly well, and the rest is history. We'll never forget how that first night felt. It was as if we had known each other our whole lives. Everything flowed effortlessly, the connection was undeniable, and from that moment on, we were inseparable.
On the morning of February 1, 2025, I woke up and started painting our bathroom while Jesse headed to the gym. While he was there, he ran into a friend of mine who casually mentioned grabbing drinks at a brewery later that day. After the brewery, Jesse and I decided to drive down to Seashore State Park to watch the sunset and talk through dinner plans. If you know us, this wasn't anything out of the ordinary- we love a good sunset. We stepped out of the car and watched the sun dip below the horizon, and then much to my complete surprise, Jesse got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. He had brought along a picnic basket filled with a blanket, roses and champagne to celebrate- and even arranged a photographer to capture the moment. While the day felt spontaneous to me, Jesse has been planning this proposal for quite some time. Though parts of his original plan didn't quite work out, everything came together perfectly in the end. It was meaningful and unmistakably us. Afterward, we celebrated with dinner at Calypso- where we had our very first date.
