Mess Hall - located in the Cargo district it has one of the best burgers in town. Call in your order beforehand and get it to go however you can eat in the common area (loophole) - waits can last up to 1.5 hours Winnies Tavern PTS Grille
Las Portales - has the best tacos and margs (It is fresh squeezed and only $6) in town. They are practically giving margs away. (suggestion Asada tacos and margarita/big draft of Dos Equis Amber) El Mirasol-Mexican Grill and Store - If you are looking to get out, the quiet town of Burgaw, NC is like traveling back to 1955. This town has southern charm and is home to the blueberry festival. It is also where Dan works. El Mirasol has the best chorizo taco and if Dan has ever eaten and if he was on the show best things I have ever eat, this taco would be featured. K-Bueno Cocina - is takeout only and they speak minimum English. The Mexican street tacos are the way to go. They also have their own salas and the small green one is a Holly favorite. (Suggestion is getting a chicken and asada Mexican street tacos).
Roberts Grocery - This is the only grocery store on the island and they have great sandwiches, however, you need to try the Robert’s famous Chicken Salad. Get some pita chips and sit on the beach like a true local eating this chicken salad. They also have breakfast sandwiches. Tower 7 - this is probably the best place to eat on the Island. It is Mexican baja and you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. (K38 is the same restaurant on the mainland). Poe’s Tavern - Great burger place and you can listen to a scary man read Edgar Allen Poe in the bathroom. Workshop - Great sandwich place/cafe. A Holly and Dan stapel wheeling down to the beach There is also many aci aci bowls on the beach and other hidden gems (like the adapt kitchen bar inside Roberts)
Wilmington Downtown Slainte Irish Pub - Dan’s favorite bar, say hit to Misha for me - get a happy meal:) Duck and Dive - This is where Dan and Matt watch Browns games. Great dive bar, however, Mary doesn’t work there anymore:( Barberry coast - Dan’s buddy Jakob’s favorite place. It has a pirate/Grateful Dead theme $1.50 PBRs Goat and Compass - Some people join a church when they move to town, Dan joined a bar. Many great memories here, look for the yellow telephone pole outside the bar. It was painted yellow where they used to host neighborhood stickball games. Anne Bonny’s - This is on a barge and has a nice river view. It also serves boat drinks and food. Famous bars/wilwood things - Blue Post was featured in the series Eastbound and Down which it was called Shabooms. Hell’s Kitchen is the famous Dawson Creek bar. Also behind Goat and Compass you can find One Tree Hill bridge
