Things To Do

We are so excited to share this day with you in our Nation's Capital! For those with extra time on their hands, there is no shortage of things to see and do. Below are some of our favorites within walking distance from the venue.
Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial

Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial

1850 West Basin Drive Southwest, Washington, DC 20242

Nestled along the tidal basin, the FDR memorial is one of our favorite (shaded) places in DC. Best during the morning hours, as the sun rises over the city, we highly recommend strolling along this beautiful, waterfall-filled landmark. It is conveniently located near the Thomas Jefferson Memorial, another must-see!

Thomas Jefferson Memorial

Thomas Jefferson Memorial

16 East Basin Drive Southwest, Washington, DC 20242
, (202) 426-6841

Check out the Thomas Jefferson Memorial. Offset from the National Mall, along the Tidal Basin, this spot is an underrated beauty with an incredible view of the Washington Monument.

Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History

Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History

10th St. & Constitution Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20560
, (202) 633-1000

For those attending with kiddos (or just nature-loving adults), the Museum of Natural History is a must! Everything from dinosaurs to whales to elephants can be found here, and admission is always free. There are several other free-admission Smithsonian museums along the mall too, such as the American History Museum, American Indian Museum, and National Portrait Gallery.

World War II Memorial

World War II Memorial

1750 Independence Avenue Southwest, Washington, DC 20024
, (202) 426-6841

The World War II Memorial recognizes the ways Americans served, honors those who fell, and recognizes the victory they achieved to restore freedom around the globe. There are several other war memorials on the mall to explore, such as the Vietnam and Korean War Memorials. We recommend visiting as many as you can while in town.

For all the days along the way
