We're getting married!

It all began at the start of 2020, a year that brought its fair share of surprises, but also led Gemma and Fatakau to each other. Gemma was settled in the Grafton University halls, fully immersed in her studies, while Fatakau was diving into the dynamic and busy life of work in Auckland. Like many, they spent more time on their phones during the lockdown, and one day, they both found themselves scrolling through TikTok. It was on the For You Page (FYP) that their paths crossed. A simple video caught their attention, and from there, something clicked. A conversation began, and what started as casual messages quickly turned into daily chats. With the world around them changing, their connection only grew stronger. As the pandemic intensified, Gemma headed back to her parents' home in Raglan. Despite the distance, they stayed in touch—texting, calling, and growing closer with every conversation. They shared everything, from their hopes and dreams to their favorite songs and silly moments. The lockdown may have kept them physically apart, but it allowed their bond to flourish in ways they hadn't imagined. Finally, when the lockdown restrictions were lifted, Fatakau made the long drive to Raglan. He picked Gemma up, and together, they headed back to Auckland. What started as a friendship now felt like something deeper—an undeniable connection. As time passed, their bond blossomed into something beautiful and beyond what they could have ever expected.
