We met April of 2017 after mutual friends encouraged us to start talking. Nick was home on leave for two weeks and within those two weeks we went from strangers to best friends. We knew long distance was going to be hard but we were determined to make it work. Our relationship continued to grow over the next few months, and after multiple trips back and forth from Montana to Oregon and vice versa, we took the next step towards ending long distance for good. On January 1st, 2018 Nick told Emily to marry him in what seemed to most to be just a parking lot, but to us it was so much more. The place where we got engaged will forever be special to us as it is a place we have visited together every time Nick has been home. At the base of the largest American Flag in Oregon, one which holds family sentiment to Emily, Nick told her she would be his wife. We have continued to do long distance after our engagement but we look forward to the long distance expiration date of 09/01/2018! After a long year and a half of FaceTiming, writing letters, and talking on the phone we are looking forward to no more goodbyes. Thank you for being a part of each of our lives in whatever way you have been. We are so blessed to have the amazing family and friends that we do, and hope to share the most important day of our lives with you.
