Matthew and Ashley had been set up by their mutual friend. After a week of constant texting they met at the Naperville Riverwalk and continued to hit it off. Another week later they went on a road trip to Wako Beach in Michigan. They hiked through the forest along the coastline, swam in the water, and played in the sand. At the end of their wonderful day he asked Ashley to be his girlfriend.

For their 3 year anniversary celebration Matthew took Ashley back to where they first met at the Naperville Riverwalk. They reminisced about the start of their relationship and came to a path filled with beautiful purple and orange wildflowers. Ashley went to smell and admire the flowers, and as she turned around she found Matthew on one knee, asking for her hand in marriage.
