Yes, we met at work. It all started when a young physical therapist from Albany, New York and a young professional dancer from Cali, Colombia met on a random Monday in the summer of 2017 on what was his first day as a clinical director. The sparks appeared immediately, however we both kept it completely to ourselves. Professionalism above all. Not even a hint! About 6 months later, I (Nadya) mentioned in conversation amongst colleagues about an upcoming show. Farzad asked if he could come see me perform, to which I said "of course" not thinking much of it or that he would just forget. A couple of weeks later, on the day of the show, while I was backstage getting ready to perform, a text message from Farzad appears on my phone, telling me he's outside the theatre. He sat front row and gave a standing ovation. If you know Farzad, you know what that standing ovation and cheering looked/sounded like. If you don't, you will soon understand haha! Like a true New Yorker gentleman, he offered to walk me to the train station. The 3-block walk then turned into hours of walking, talking, lots of laughing and looking at Christmas lights. And if you're wondering if this happened on December 2nd, you guessed it! This date not only marks the beginning of our lives as husband and wife, but also 6 years since the most sweet and unexpected first date, the beginning of our love story!
