We're getting married!

We met working together at a country club. Ironically enough, the clubhouse needed a spot filled and one of the people that I mentioned this to told his roommate to apply, which turned out to be Max! After a few months of working together, we went on our first date and the rest is history!

The proposal took place on our trip to Asheville, North Carolina. Knowing Katelyn and her fear of public proposals, I knew that this place would provide many beautiful and serene locations to finally ask her to marry me. While planning this trip, we took turns adding things that we wanted to see and do to our itinerary. In my mind, I had already chosen the location where I wanted to propose and was quick to add this hike to the list of things to do. To my surprise, Katelyn then proceeded to choose one of the most difficult hikes that they offer in the area. In all honesty, this should not have been too surprising seeing as only 2 years prior she had us climb Mt. Piton in St. Lucia, which is approximately a 90 degree ascent. Fast-forward to our trip, I ultimately decided to propose on the hike that she picked because I thought it would make it all the more special. On the morning of the big day, both of us were exhausted from the previous day's hike, but I was eager to get up and on the trail before more people showed up and the trails got crowded. However, getting her out of bed turned out to be a monumental task with several failed attempts. "What's the big rush? Can we not just sleep in 30 more minutes? The trail is not going anywhere." After practically dragging her out of bed and a quick breakfast and coffee, we were on our way. Seventeen hundred feet later, I finally got to propose and can't wait to spend the rest of my life with my best friend!
