These stories are all written from my (Alex's) perspective, because I was in charge of designing and providing the details for the website. So yeah.
On a beautiful sunny day in late May, we went on a hike at Wildcat Falls in Merrimack, New Hampshire. About halfway down the trail, Ashley spotted a bench covered in rose petals in the distance, at which she glanced at me with a knowing look. as we approached the bench, I darted behind a tree and brought out my guitar that I had stashed there earlier. We sat on the bench and I played a song I had written for her, which I had titled- "Angel from Heaven". After that, I pulled out the ring, got down on one knee, and the rest is history! We are so excited to share this special day with you!
Over the weekend of Easter, 2023, we agreed to be serious about taking the next step with our relationship. Ashley had been telling me how she was feeling a strong prompting from God telling her that we should be seriously thinking about getting married. I was skeptical, but through prayer and conversations with some wise people in my life, I began to trust God with the decision. Come Easter break, I finally mentioned to Ashley- "I think we should get married, but I'm having trouble committing to it." One thing we do in our relationship to seal a deal is to pinky promise. She suggested that I pinky promise that we would do it in order to overcome my doubts. So in that moment, I took the plunge, and pinky promised that I would take the next step more seriously. In the following weeks, especially as I began researching and designing Ashley's engagement ring, I felt so much peace with the decision. It is so good to give God control instead of stressing out about our decisions!

This story is super cringey so don't judge us lol. I was 16, she was 15. It was the last performance of our High School's "Evening of One-Acts". We were busy collecting candy grams and getting ready for the cast party at Applebees later that night. I went up to her, awkwardly I might add, and said- "Ashley, can we talk?" She knew what was coming, and she was nervous because I would be her first boyfriend, so she tried to avoid it-- "No... I need to get my candy grams!" "Ashley! Please?" (I was pretty anxious too) "Fine" We went out into the hallway, and I said, "So uhh, I like you a lot, and uhh, do you want to go out with me?" "Yes? No? Maybe? I don't know! Ok, sure." "Cool!" So... that's a cringey story, but it's the truth, and to this day we feel like it is only by God's prompting that Ashley agreed to go out with me. I guess he has good ideas sometimes.
