Question

Where do I park for the Holud and Reception?

Answer

If you are driving to the Holud event at Roswell Historic Hall, you must park at the city hall located at 38 Hill St. Roswell, 30075, and guests will be shuttled to the venue. The shuttle runs approximately every 5 minutes and should not be a major inconvenience. There are a few handicap spots at the venue for those who need it. Please reach out to us with any questions regarding parking. For the wedding reception and ceremony at Spring Event Hall, there is plenty of free onsite parking.

Question

What time should I arrive for the Nikkah and Reception?

Answer

Please arrive by 4:30 PM to be seated before the ceremony begins promptly at 5:00 PM. After the ceremony, guests can enjoy appetizers and soft drinks while mingling until the reception starts at 7:00 PM.

Question

Where can I stay?

Answer

For your stay, we recommend booking a hotel in Buckhead if you'd like to explore during your downtime. This lively, walkable area is filled with fantastic restaurants, shops, and entertainment options. If you'd prefer to stay closer to our wedding venues, Dunwoody is another great choice, though it has a more suburban feel and is best suited for those with a car, as it’s less walkable. Uber and Lyft are reasonably priced in Atlanta, making it easy to get around without a car. If you're planning to rent one, you'll have plenty of flexibility in choosing where to stay. We’ve listed some hotel options in Buckhead for your convenience, but if you need more guidance, please don’t hesitate to reach out! - Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta - Buckhead - 3342 Peachtree Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30326 - AC Hotel Atlanta Buckhead at Phipps Plaza - 3600 Wieuca Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30326 - Hyatt Place Atlanta/Buckhead - 3242 Peachtree Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30305

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

For attire, we ask that guests wear South Asian formal for the Holud and either Western formal/South Asian formal for the wedding reception. We encourage vibrant, colorful outfits, but most importantly, we want you to wear whatever makes you feel your best and most comfortable. No matter what you choose, we know you’ll look amazing!

Question

How do I explore Atlanta?

Answer

Atlanta is the city where Fariha grew up, where Saif and Fariha both currently call home, and where their love has blossomed. Needless to say, this is a city that holds a special place in both of their hearts. If you can make the time to explore the city during your trip, you absolutely should! Atlanta is a car-friendly city with some walkable areas, especially in Midtown, Downtown, Buckhead, and along the BeltLine, where you’ll find great restaurants, shops, and attractions within walking distance. However, many areas require a car or rideshare to get around efficiently, as public transit is limited outside the city center. If you plan to explore beyond your hotel, Uber, Lyft, or rental cars are the best options for convenience. Check out our "Things To Do" page for some recommendations.

Question

Is there a registry or website for gifts?

Answer

We don’t have a wedding registry—our biggest joy is celebrating with all the wonderful people who have been part of our lives. Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! If you would still like to give a gift, there will be a designated area for cash gifts at the reception.

Question

What is a Holud event?

Answer

Holud, which translates to "yellow" and is also the Bangla word for "turmeric," is a vibrant pre-wedding celebration in South Asian culture. During this event, a turmeric paste is applied to the bride and groom by family and friends as a blessing for glowing skin, good health, and a prosperous married life. Expect lots of laughter, traditional music, and a lively atmosphere with bright yellow and orange décor. Guests often wear colorful attire to match the festive spirit!

Question

What is a Nikkah?

Answer

A Nikkah is the Islamic wedding ceremony where the marriage contract is officially signed, marking the union of the bride and groom in the presence of family, friends, and witnesses. It is a sacred and joyous occasion that includes prayers, blessings, and the exchange of vows. The ceremony is typically officiated by an Imam or religious leader and symbolizes the couple’s commitment to one another in accordance with Islamic traditions.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

March 31st! We originally asked for RSVPs by March 17th, but we understand that many of our family and friends received their invitations later than expected. Please feel free to RSVP by March 31st, and let us know if you need more time. We can't wait to celebrate with you!
