How they met: Faridha and Peter met on December 31, 2019 at a New Years Eve Gala at the University Club in Washington DC. Peter’s sister, Natalie, had invited him and Sara, a friend of Faridha’s, had invited her to join them for this festive and fateful evening. Peter looked handsome in a tuxedo as he offered Faridha a seat next to him. Wine, food, and flirty banter was followed by dancing and laughter well into the night. Then just before midnight struck Peter invited Faridha to a Caps game the next day! And then later that week they had another fun date. Over the next few months, they learned that they shared a lot of common interests and values; both enjoy spending time with family and friends and travelling. The relationship blossomed during the Covid lockdown...Peter and Faridha spent 24/7 together and realized they didn’t need to go out on the town or spend a lot of money to have fun and be happy together. They felt comfortable with each other, connected, and complemented each other -making a great team. Over the past several years they have created beautiful and enjoyable memories with friends and family and traveling. The Proposal: On the evening of Friday May 12, 2023, Peter beautifully transformed his Georgetown home parlor decorating it with dozens of red roses, rose petals, balloons, and candles. Music from Peter’s and Faridha’s favorite playlist was piped in. Large lighted letters on the cocktail table spelled “Marry Me” as Peter got down on one knee and proposed. With her heart filled with joy and her eyes with tears Faridha delightfully said, “YES”. They celebrated with champagne, strawberries and chocolate. The evening ended with a dinner at their favorite neighborhood restaurant “Brasserie Liberté” in Georgetown. Peter had more roses delivered for the table and the celebratory mood with the waitstaff continued well into the evening.
