Exploring the Island

We wanted to share some ideas on how to spend your time on the island as well as some of our favorite places. Enjoy!
Snorkeling - Hanauma Bay

Snorkeling - Hanauma Bay

Honolulu, HI 96825

This is our #1 recommendation for you to experience. INCREDIBLE Snorkeling. $25 /person entry fee. Snorkel rentals and small lockers available. The bay is a great place for "winter" snorkeling as it does not get the same dangerous waves that the north shore does this time of year. Either make a reservation or show up as soon as they open to get a walk in ticket. We recommend bringing food as snorkeling can wear you out and the food vendor there is expensive. Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays

Snorkeling - Turtle Canyon

Snorkeling - Turtle Canyon

Honolulu, HI

There are many tour groups that will take you on a boat to this location. It is just an area in the ocean that turtles frequent. If you want to guarantee seeing a turtle while you are here, booking a Turtle Canyon tour would be a great way to do that.

Ohana Surf Project

Ohana Surf Project

2552 Kalakaua Ave, P159/160, Honolulu, HI 96815

Want to actually stand on a surfboard? Booking a lesson with this company was a great experience. It is a 10 minute walk from the hotel options we mentioned.

Saturday Morning Kaka'ako Farmers Market

Saturday Morning Kaka'ako Farmers Market

919 Ala Moana Boulevard, Honolulu, HI 96814

Saturdays 8-12pm. A great farmers market with a lot of local vendors. There is food, coffee, fruits/veggies and tons of knick knacks. A great way to start a Saturday! To navigate to the parking lot plug in the following address to your maps: 172 Ahui St, Honolulu, HI 96813

Hiking

Hiking

Be Safe! Trails here are BREATHTAKING, but not as well maintained as the mainland. Expect to get muddy and bring a bag so that you can be hands free, it will be needed more often than you think. Many trails have ropes to help you get up and down safely. If it starts raining heavily, turn around. We will add some trail recommendations as we get closer to November. Please feel free to message us questions on trails we have been on!
