TRAVEL TIPS • In France, passports must be valid for at least 3 months after your travel date. • Don't forget to pack an international electronic adapter for your phone and other devices. • American Express is not as widely accepted in France as it is in the US. Some vendors take it, but if it is your primary card you should also bring a Visa (debit cards work for this as well). • Average September weather for the region is Sunny & 71 ° (high) - 50 ° (low) • As we are closer to the Wedding we will update all guests on France's Covid Guidelines https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/traveladvisories/traveladvisories/france-travel-advisory.html

Flight

Charles de Gaulle (CDG) & Orly Airport (ORY)

Guests will fly into Paris through Charles de Gaulle or Orly Airports. We recommend booking a flight that leaves Wednesday or Thursday evening, flies overnight, and lands in Paris on Thursday or Friday morning. Wedding events will begin on Friday evening. Flying out of the New York area? Look into flights from JFK & EWR. The best time to book an international flight to Europe is 6 - 4 1/2 months out. We have found great great deals on Google Flights, JustFly.com, TripAdvisor, Cheapair.com, Trivago & Kayak and highly recommend setting up a flight sale alert on one or more of these sites!

Rental Car

Rental Cars

We recommend reserving a car ahead of time to pick up at Charles de Gaulle airport to have for the weekend. You can find really great deals on kayak.com. If you’re traveling by car, there will likely be tolls on the larger roads. You can use cash OR cards. Please make sure that you choose the correct automated toll booth (they have signs above - cash with the € symbol, or a card). The toll machines can be selected to display in English...unfortunately by selecting the British flag (Union Jack) symbol instead of the Stars and Stripes. We recommend having both Cash and Card on hand just incase you wind up in the wrong lane. If renting a car, GPS could be a good option so you don’t kill your data plan. But be sure to ask if the car is already equipped with it. They will still try to sell you a GPS system even if the car has a built in GPS system. Also note similar to NYC, you cannot turn right on a red light in Europe.

Train

TGV Train

The TGV train runs from the airport to Chalons-en-Champagne (the next town over). The ride is about 2-2.5 hours and requires transfers. More information can be found on their site. You can also download the SNCF (French National Train System) App to your phone.
