It's so cliché when you think about it. Nowadays, most people meet on dating apps, at bars/lounges, at work, or at a friend’s gathering, but for us we met at the post office, (yes we still have them). If I (Fred) were to tell our story, I would say this… I recall walking from my truck to the entrance of the building and I immediately noticed Aprille and her mom walking in. She was carrying a BIG box, (seemed like it was bigger than she was). Aprille had the longest legs which is what caught my eyes first. I said to myself DAAAAMN, she's fine. I proceeded to asked if they needed any help and Aprille replied, “nope I got it”. Talk about an independent woman from the start. Aprille's mom nudged so she passed it over to me. Her mom was very friendly and seemed like such a sweet lady in the way she spoke to me. We talked in line while Aprille didn’t give me the time of day. Come to think of it, I don’t think she even looked at me once! Her mom shared that her daughter had just moved to TX and they were mailing Christmas gifts to the grandkids back in CA. During that conversation, Aprille's mom mentioned where she worked and what time she got off, (you can best believe I took a mental note). The next day I drove by her job and saw her walking to the car. I slowed down to speak "as if it was just a random coincidence”. She recognized me and smiled then waved me in. I told her I would be hanging out with friends and gave her my business card to pass along to her daughter. I hoped Aprille would want to go out and see the city with us. I waited for hours and hours and finally got the call! From there here we are. If Aprille were to tell the story she’d say, I stalked her mom and then her. She will forever be my return to sender. . .

We both LOVE music so naturally we love to see artists live and in person. On this particular weekend we had tickets to see Babyface and Kem in concert (Kem is in our top 3). Babyface performed some of his best hits and we were grooving to every beat. Once he wrapped up his set Kem graced the stage. We started moving in our seats, singing along, standing up and having a great time. Just as Kem began to close out for the evening, Fred said “babe isn’t that your favorite song”, (Live Out Your Love), I shook my head yes. He said come on and grabs my hand. Here I am thinking he wants to dance in the aisle, but no he had other plans. We continued to walk closer to the stage where Fred gave his phone to a guy sitting on the end in the front row. Oblivious to what was going on I thought he must want to take a picture in front of the stage before we leave. Since the nearest exit was a few feet away and traffic would be crazy I didn’t think anything out of the ordinary would soon happen. A gal behind me shouts “I like your dress” and I replied “thank you”, I turned back around and there Fred was on one knee. Initially it didn’t dawn on me that he was proposing. I thought he was tying his shoe until I saw the ring. Never in a million years did I think I would be that woman who was proposed to at a concert with 5k people present with our favorite artist singing my absolute favorite song right in front of us, who then asked us to come back to the stage and offer to sing at our wedding. BTW my mom’s favorite color was green and I wore a green dress not knowing this moment, day, and proposal would be priceless. She was with me shining down from heaven. She loved Fred!
