We're so excited to celebrate with you!

Short version? … It all began in 2015 when Tyler moved to the small town of Quanah, TX. Tyler was the new "coaches" kid to town. MaKayla was a senior in high school that wasn't looking to find her forever person just yet... We officially met each other on a Ranger’s baseball game trip we took with mutal friends that summer. As months passed, Tyler FINALLY asked for my number from a friend of mine. He began texting me.. constantly asking if I cared that he got my number. (sweetheart from the beginning!) We began officially dating after being friends for a couple months on 11.30.2015. We dated through the remainder of high school. Even got to experience the typical “football player and cheerleader” highschool sweetheart dream. Next, came college, which meant enduring some long distance for a couple of years. However, we both ended up at Tarleton State University together at one point in our college journey. Tyler was pursuing the football coach dream and had to transfer to the University of Texas. I stayed behind and graduated from Tarleton in 2020 and got a teaching job in the Austin area to be closer to Tyler. That’s where we’ve been ever since.

Tyler was clever and asked me to go a nice dinner out in downtown Austin. However, he had much bigger plans than just dinner.. We made a detour to visit the Boardwalk of Lady Bird Lake, which provides a stunning view of the lake and downtown Austin. We walked down a ways to the perfect spot that Tyler had already mapped out and ensured to be the perfect location for capturing the moment. As we looked out at the lake, Tyler asked me if I would like an "Instagram" worthy photo with the downtown in the background and me staring into the view (aka facing away from him). As the seconds grew longer, I felt like the photo was taking longer than needed and that’s when I heard a shaky voice say my name to turn around. Tyler got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life by his side. Of course, I responded with YES and IT'S ABOUT TIME! (only 6 years and 26 days of waiting for this moment). Also, I wasn't aware that a dear family member was hiding out waiting to capture what would become the best day ever. 12.27.2021
