Falynn's version: Brett and I met on the school bus in sixth grade. I remember he wore Under Armor polo shirts and loved to fish and I probably talked a lot. We became bus buddies and sat together with a couple of friends that whole year. One day I pointed out my house to him through the trees. Flash forward five years, we went to different high schools but ended up on the same rowing team. I would invite friends over from our team, but never had to send Brett the address because he remembered which house was mine from middle school. He told me "I knew I would need to remember that one day". We briefly dated in high school, then went to different colleges. I came home from college in Tampa during Covid and Brett and I got scuba certified together and started to date again. We did long distance while I was in Tampa for a couple of months, a year together in Gainesville while I was in nursing school, then long distance the next three years while he was in the Maritime Academy at Texas A&M in Galveston. Even though we weren't always together, every winter break we would go see manatees (fat mermaids) in the springs. This past year we went to see the manatees and he asked me to marry him. It was the best day ever - which Brett tells me I always say, but this time I really meant it. He is my best friend, my role model, and going to be the best husband. Brett's version: Falynn and I both rode bus #2201 when we went to Kanapaha Middle School. She says we were friends but I always thought I was just there laughing with her friends. At the end of our 7th grade year I moved and had to change busses, but not schools. We ended up going to different high schools. She went with all of the smart people that liked to be in school and I went to Buchholz. Then when I started sophomore year I found the rowing team (surprise, a water sport) and she just so happened to be on the team from she started in middle school. We ended up going to nationals our junior year out in California and for some reason I stayed in California and joined her family vacation for an extra week after the race. I have never laughed so hard in my life until that trip. We then started dating at the beginning of our senior year and then took a break at the end of senior year until Covid brought us back together. There is no good answer for it but the Lord is always working. Now we get spend the rest of our lives together.
