Our story is quite special we think. Rewind to December 2018 as Christmas was approaching, I decided to take a leap of faith and join Bumble. Honestly, I never thought I was going to meet the love my life on a dating app, but I matched with Richard and quite literally the rest was history. However, there is more to the story. As some may know and some will now know, I worked with Richards sister, Becca. Becca was actually a huge part of why I chose to start my nursing career at Duke and she even was my preceptor when I first started! However, I had no idea they were related when Richard and I first matched on Bumble. Fast forward just a few days after we matched and had only corresponded a few messages, I was sitting in the break room at work and Becca came up to me and said she wanted to set me up with her brother. So naturally I was like okay... show me a picture of him. She proceeded to show me a picture that looked so oddly familiar, but I couldn't quite figure out where I had seen it before. So I pulled up Bumble and sure enough that picture was on Richard's profile! I instantly showed Becca and we couldn't believe it! I will truly never forget that day and moment at work. Richard and I hit it off instantly and one date led to many more. Not a moment went by that we didn't have something to talk about (you should have seen our texts/paragraphs. They could probably break a world record lol). I'm not sure if I believed in fate before I met Richard, but I truly do now. I had accepted a job in Charlotte, but after shadowing Becca at Duke I knew there was a greater good for me to pursue. If Richard and I didn't match on Bumble, Becca was planning on setting us up. So, we always joke when people ask us how we met because we truly did have two different stars trying to align our paths.
