The couple met at the Jackson County fair, the summer before their Freshman year of high school. However, that is not where their love story began, Karlie was a difficult person and did not see what was right in front of her. Karlie and Nate grew into really good friends. Nate really tried to grow the friendship into something more, however, Karlie was completely blind to it. It took SEVEN years for Karlie to realize that she was, in fact, in love with her best friend, (Nate knew much earlier than Karlie). The couple started dating on July 3, 2020. Throughout the next two and a half years, they learned how to go from being two very independent people to understanding that it is okay to rely on someone other than themselves. Kayla, the bride's sister, assisted Nate in retrieving a ring size, and he bought the perfect ring for Karlie (which he held onto for almost a YEAR before asking!) Karlie and Nate, have had their struggles, her father passed away, and he was also one of Nate's really good friends which makes everything more difficult because they both lost such a huge part of their family. Nate wanted to make sure that Bill, the bride's father could still be a part of the proposal. The whole family took a trip to New York, Bill's home state, for a memorial in his honor. Nate, Kayla, and Delaina, the bride's mother, schemed to make the perfect proposal in New York so that it would feel like Bill was standing with them. They found a beautiful bridge and convinced Karlie they were going to take family pictures, so she was absolutely shocked, even asked if he was serious. Obviously, Karlie said yes, and the wedding planning began. And now you all get to be a part of the couple saying "I do!" and starting their next chapter in life.
