Christina & Mitch met on a blind date after connecting online, as most couples seem to do now a days (yay introverts), shortly after Christina moved to Florida. Christina convinced Mitch to come to Disney Springs while she was with her friends and meet up. Something must have attracted him because the following week he took her on their first official date to Epcot. It was quickly love after the two connected over their senses of humor, Papa John's cheese sticks, Disney Parks and laughing with each other. Christina will never forget the night when she was leaving Mitch after visiting him at work about 3 weeks after that first date and the words "I love you," slipped out of his mouth as if he had been saying it to her for years. The rest is history
After living together for a few months, obviously the future was considered. When Christina went to Atlanta to visit her family, Mitch decided it was the perfect opportunity to go ring shopping. Christina's favorite holiday is Christmas and she loves Disney, but she loves Disney even more at Christmas time. Tickets were purchased to go to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and plans were made that Mitch's mom and sisters would be flying down to join the festivities. They are huge Disney fans as well so Christina just thought they were coming to go to the Christmas party with them. On the day of, the gang went to Magic Kingdom. The castle was lit up and looking beautiful and Christina was in her happy place! They got their seats for the parade and fireworks right in front of the castle! It was a perfect spot! Then all of a sudden, Mitch and his sisters kept suggesting to move further and further away from the castle, down Main Street. Christina did not understand why they could not just pick a spot! His sister was also insistent on waiting at the front of a photographer's line until the castle lights turned back on after the show. Christina was so confused and getting annoyed. After the lights came back on, we were told it was time for family pictures. Couples go first apparently so there they went went! They smile for a few pictures and then Mitch turns to Christina and tells her how much he loves her and wants nothing more than to spend his life with her and then it happened! Christina was so shocked that she couldn't even cry like she always said she would if it ever happened in front of the castle! It was the PERFECT proposal for her and for them! Turns out Christina's family did not have to miss out either as his mom had them on facetime for the whole thing!
