We met in 2012 through the volleyball world. If I remember correctly, Jonah (groomsman) was crushing on one of our mutual friends. Anyways, Andrew put his name in my phone as “Big Red” … never to be texted again. I went to college, never saw him. Moved to NorCal for adventure. Still never saw him. I came home for a memorial and another friend of ours invited us both to a house party. Desperate to get out of the house and mind off of the weekend, I went. And there was Andrew McCall, intoxicated and offering me a drink the moment I walked in. It was a weird and tricky situation, because we both had people interested in us. But for reasons I cannot explain, Andrew made my whole weekend so much better. I went back to NorCal and about three days later, “Big Red’s” name popped up on my phone. And three years later I left a job in LA after a promotion to move home to AZ. I blamed it on my family, but really, I just wanted to be closer to Andrew. Thankfully, the rest is history.
In 2012, the only thing I knew existed was volleyball and school. Little did I know, there was actually a world out there which included other things in life…girls being one of them. Luckily for me, the volleyball community is small and it brought me to meet Kendall LaCivita. Fast forward a few years, I am attending ASU and living the time of my life. I go to a house party one night, and like typical Andrew fashion, already feeling a buzz after a few drinks. A buddy tells me that a friend from high school is in town and is coming over and that I have to be on my best behavior. The second Kendall walked in the door, in full confidence, “Hi! Here’s a drink, and you better drink up, you’re behind!” Not thinking anything of it, I resume to be my normal self and enjoy the night, dancing like the fool I am. Little did I know that meeting her that night would be a night I remember for the rest of my life. Getting to know Kendall more, I decide to tell her that I am no longer dating or talking to anyone else, that she had my full attention, and was only interested in her. (If you wondering more about this, yes, you can ask her about it and she will say that she was nowhere close to saying this about me!). To this day, she tells people that she moved back to Arizona for work and for family, but come on…really?
