We first met when our friends, Jami and Cole, set up a night for the four of us to go to Cracker Barrel and Top Golf. Caleb’s best friend, Sam and his now wife, Ashlyn, also went with us. We had such a great time and continued to talk after that night. After a couple of months of hanging out with friends together, Amelia finally gave in to Caleb’s invites to hang out just the two of us. Our first date was July 8, 2018 at the Greenfield-Central Junior High School tennis courts where we played tennis for a couple of hours. Tennis was one of the things that we realized we had in common early on, and it ended up being what brought us together at first. After that, the rest was history, and we enjoyed many more dates, times with friends and family, and LOTS of laughter. On May 25, 2019, we went to Amelia’s eye doctor appointment and to lunch at Cracker Barrel. We were planning on meeting Sam and Ashlyn at Top Golf that afternoon. Amelia thought it was another typical Saturday, but this was not the case. After lunch, Caleb’s haircut, and Top Golf, we headed back home and Caleb drove the long way to “show me Jim Irsay’s estate.” This was really just to kill time while Sam and Ashlyn hurried back to Amelia’s house. Once we finally made it back to Amelia’s house, we walked up the driveway and Caleb pulled a golf ball out of his pocket and opened it up to show off the most beautiful ring. Both of our families, along with many of our closest friends, were in the garage waiting for us with signs asking Amelia, “Will You Marry Him?” Of course, the answer was yes, and the rest of the evening was spent celebrating with our family and friends. Since that day, we have spent every minute enjoying our engagement. We have begun the process of building a house and are looking forward to celebrating with our families and friends in August!
