We have decided to elope in the beautiful mountains of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. In an intimate gathering, a weekend of activities will be enjoyed between our siblings and parents. I could not be more ecstatic to marry my best friend in front of the most special people in our lives.
We were introduced by a mutual friend. At first, I thought it was just one of those casual “oh, you two should meet” situations. But as soon as we started talking, something clicked. It was like we had been set on a path long before we ever crossed paths—soul ties that had been woven into our lives by something greater than us. As much as we tried to ignore it, that pull was undeniable. It wasn’t a matter of chance or coincidence—it was a matter of timing. The universe had spent years preparing us, teaching us, and healing us so that we could come together at exactly the right moment. And come together we did.
Henny invited me on a weekend trip that he booked all of the tickets for, so I had absolutely no idea where we were going. All I was told was to bring a few different outfits ranging from swim cover-ups to nice dinner wear. After landing in Pensacola, he picked me up and we commenced the beginning of a beautiful trip. It was genuinely a normal beach weekend up until our second to last day when it seemed as though he was trying to rush me back to get ready for our dinner. I had a feeling that it was going to happen and kept expecting it at any moment, but to my surprise, he pulled me out on the beach and we started painting. His plan was to get paint on my hands so I had to walk down to the water to wash it off, but being as stubborn as I am, did not want to walk down there by myself. Some girls had walked over and asked if we were doing something important to which Henny responded, "Yes, I just need her to walk away" and eventually I did. Walking back, the girls had our phones to record and I knew this was the moment. He grabbed my hands and went on to describe how much he loved me (which I did not remember because I blacked out) and got down on his knee. I was so nervous I can't even remember what I said or the rest of what happened, but I know that I do get to spend the rest of my life with the most amazing and thoughtful man.
