It all started with Tacos and Flowers...

2.15.22

Who knew a one-sided debate would turn into two people getting married in Hawaii. We met over a dating app and naturally, I (Faith) started a "debate" with Will regarding his response to a Hinge prompt. We messaged each other, had many phone conversations, and then planned our first date. Of course, life happens, and that first date movie plan fell to the side when I needed a taco break during an exam cycle. Just one day after Valentine's, in my sweatpants, and in my "day-before-exam" glory. Will and I met for the first time for some much-needed tacos. In my stubbornness, I declared that this was not a "date" and that our first date would go on as planned for the next day at the movies. Little did I know this declaration fell on deaf ears and this would become the first day of our forever. Following our tacos, Will proceeded to walk me to my car. Three steps out of the restaurant, he opened the passenger door of a car and pulled out a beautiful bouquet of flowers. In true Faith fashion, I was shocked and confused as to why he had just gone into "someone's" car and was handing me flowers. I asked him if he was sure, and he smiled and said yes and handed me the flowers, and then we continued walking to my car. In the short walk to my car, it all began to make sense: 1. The car Will had just gone into was indeed his own 2. The gesture was beyond sweet 3. My reaction probably confused the hell out of him. After getting to my car, I gave Will the first of many hugs and drove home. Our first date was simple, just some tacos and flowers. But I knew, the way he cared for me even without having met me in person before, was the foundation of something irreplaceable.
