Told by Faith: After a blurry Oktoberfest back in 2017 at Panther Island Pavilion, a good friend of mine and I decided to hit up 7th street and go to Varsity Tavern. I get a headache still thinking about this bar... ANYWHO. After probably 1 (or 6) too many beers I noticed this REALLY good looking man on duty in a FWPD uniform. I walked up to him and said "I'm looking for the hottest guy in the bar tonight, and I think you're it". Yeah, liquid courage- I told you. He blushed and I asked him if he liked sushi and suggested dinner plans, the rest is history. And if you were wondering, no he has not worked at that bar since ;)
Told by Ryan: A destination proposal was always the plan, and Dubai was both picturesque and memorable. I surprised Faith with our first night’s stay at the Palace Downtown which had a spectacular view of the Burj Khalifa. We had a dinner reservation at the highest restaurant in the world, so we were dressed to the nines. I perfectly timed our departure at the “golden hour” with the hired photographer in place. Faith looked amazingly beautiful, and I was nervous about everything going right. Once we were in the designated photo location, I turned to Faith and went down on one knee. While looking into her eyes I said, “I want you to know that I loved you yesterday, I love you today, and I’ll love you forever. Because life is like a bowl of cereal, but life with you is like a bowl of cereal with milk. Will you marry me?” The whole night I kept catching Faith looking at her ring and smiling, which I think about often and it always brings a smile to my face.
Once upon a time in a small New Orleans café, Ryan and I were introduced to char-broiled oysters. Our very creole waiter explained them like this "So ya see now, raw oysters are like cereal. BUT char-broiled oysters are like cereal with milk!" And if you are lucky enough to have tried char-broiled oysters before, then you know they are incredible. So moral of the story; when something in life is really really great, it's just that- Cereal WITH milk.
