Our Story Pt. 1

Logan and Faith met during the first week of their freshman year at Biola through their mutual friend (and now Best Man), Ian Spears. Logan would later go on to say that he didn't like Faith at first because he believed her to be a "contrarian". He would later find out that she just holds very strong opinions and isn't afraid to share! Their friendship continued to blossom over the years as they eventually both became Bible majors in their sophomore year and had many classes together. During their junior year, they continued to get closer, hanging out in groups and one-on-one frequently, and even going on a spring break trip together (shoutout to the Crenshaws). However, fall of senior year was when it all started to fall into place. Logan and Faith were now best friends and hung out constantly. Their friendship was so deep that those around them, from friends to mentors to professors, frequently joked that they should get married. Eventually, Faith began to get a bit nervous about all the attention and wondered if Logan was starting to develop feelings for her. Wanting to nip it in the bud, she consulted Trudi Berding, who advised her to have a conversation about it. This conversation, in which Faith intended to tell Logan that the jokes should stop because she didn't want him to get the wrong idea, ended up being the very thing that sparked feelings for Logan. From that day on, his feelings for her developed, although she did not feel the same and their friendship continued. Eventually, Logan decided to tell Faith that he would need space from their friendship because his feelings had grown too strong. Shocked by this, Faith decided that she had no other choice but to date him, because why not! She wrote a five-point contract detailing the terms under which they would date, and they began a romantic relationship. However, this did not go very well for either of them.

Our Story Pt. 2

Faith, knowing that her feelings for Logan were nowhere near his feelings for her, was very anxious throughout this phase, but did not call things off for fear of hurting Logan. Logan, being the intuitive and confrontational man that he is decided to break up with Faith after a few weeks because he could see that she was not enjoying dating him. However, this very breakup conversation was what the Lord used to move Faith's heart toward Logan! She recognized that he was the type of man that was willing to sacrifice his desires for her, and knew her well enough to make the hard choice that she wasn't able to make. On the night of the break up, they decided to keep hanging out. Faith took Logan to Pasadena City Hall and played him the playlist she had been making for him. Logan could tell that something was different about Faith and Faith knew that she was experiencing feelings for him that were completely new! They ended the night both confused and excited. The next day Faith visited Logan at the coffee shop he was working at and told him that she was ready to pursue a relationship, for real this time. Over the course of this week, they would admit that they knew that they wanted to be married and do ministry alongside each other for God's glory. It turns out that they were right and Logan proposed to Faith at Pasadena City Hall eight months and one day after that fateful night where they sat and listened to music. They are so grateful for the beautiful and strong love that the Lord has given them built on the foundation of a long and deep friendship. Faith would say that this has been the best and most unexpected gift that God could have ever given her. Logan, on the other hand, would say that this is simply the proper fulfillment of their previous relationship and that he saw this love coming from a mile away ;)
