We were celebrating our one year anniversary, and he wanted to recreate our first few dates. We started off with dinner at Cafe Del Rio which was where we had our first date. Then we were supposed to go to Bellingrath Gardens where we had our second date. However, it was a week before Christmas and the line to get in to see the gardens decorated with lights was over an hour long. We were going to go back to Fairhope and look at lights and stopped to see the downtown Christmas tree in Mardi Gras Park. Kris proposed in front of the tree! It was so cold out when we went home we made hot chocolate.
