Like many good love stories, ours began at a time when we were both just a little bit tired of meeting the wrong people. While living in Colorado, we crossed paths on Hinge—sparked by a single, bold answer. When Faith described her “typical Sunday” as something along the lines of “flying to Berlin on a whim,” Justin didn’t hesitate. Having studied German in college and lived abroad there himself, he swiped right instantly. After a few weeks of messaging (and a healthy dose of skepticism on both sides), we finally met in person in January 2022 at an eclectic coffee shop and game store on South Broadway in Denver. Faith worried Justin might be too reserved; Justin wondered if Faith might be a little too wild. As it turns out, we were both wonderfully wrong. Justin stood outside waiting—mask off, just so Faith would recognize him—and from that moment on, things felt easy. Over chai lattes, we bonded over our time abroad (Germany and Argentina), our shared love of adventure, and the meaningful little details—like the many rings we both wore, each with its own story. Then came the moment that changed everything. Faith asked, “Do you want to get dinner? I know a sushi place right across the street.” And just like that—Justin was all in. We sat side by side, shared rolls, sipped wine, and dove into the kind of conversation that makes time disappear—philosophy, life, and everything in between. When the night finally came to an end, Faith turned and said, “I’m not ready for this date to be over.” Neither was Justin. Just three weeks later, on a snowy overnight trip to Valley View Hot Springs, something even deeper took root. Surrounded by mountains, music, and the quiet stillness of nature, we said “I love you” for the first time—honestly, a little unexpectedly, and completely wholeheartedly. From there, our life together unfolded in the most beautiful ways—exploring the mountains, chasing hot springs, discovering new sushi spots, and capturing spontaneous moments in the RiNo art district. Along the way, we grew—individually and together—learning, healing, and building a relationship grounded in love, curiosity, and resilience. About a year and a half in, we found ourselves asking big questions about the future. And then—life answered for us in the most unexpected and beautiful way. With the news that we were becoming parents, everything became clear. We packed up our Colorado life, said some very hard goodbyes, and moved back to Michigan to be closer to family. Soon after, we welcomed our son, June—our greatest joy, our brightest light, and the most beautiful reflection of our love. He is, without a doubt, part of the reason we know we were always meant to find each other. Now, as we stand on the edge of this next chapter, we are filled with gratitude—for everything we’ve experienced, everything we’ve overcome, and everything still ahead. What a gift it is to choose each other, again and again. What a victory it is to grow closer through life’s challenges. We are so thrilled to share our love with you!
