Jake and Faith grew up in the same state, two hours apart, only for them to reconnect after Faith moved to Oregon and Jake moved to Kansas. What’s meant for you really can’t get away from you, no matter how far you go. The couple had known each other from some chit-chatting on social media in 2021. Faith rejected Jake a time or two, and that was that. Flash forward four years later: Jake in Kansas, and Faith living her best life in Oregon. Jake messaged her asking for her time and was rejected once again. After a couple tries, she finally agreed to get to know him more and talk to him a little. What started off as a “no thanks” soon turned into phone calls every night. They did long distance for nine months: FaceTimes, phone calls, and short weekend visits every few months. They spent their official first date on May 23rd, 2025, in Omaha at Timber Wood Fire Bistro, chowing down two pizzas, mind you, followed up by a night at the Dave & Buster’s arcade. Jake would drive up to see his family in Grimes and use it as an excuse to see Faith while she was home, of course. When Faith flew home in December for the last time in 2025, he picked her up from the airport and proposed in his apartment in a heart shape of candles and rose petals. So intimate and special, just the two of them. You can imagine she said yes since we are telling their story today! Jake proposed on December 17th, and with their immediate family by their sides, they ran to the courthouse and got married on December 26th. Engaged for nine days and then married a little over a week later might be a record. Jake had had his eye on Faith for a few years since she left Iowa. He claims he never really forgot about her, meanwhile Faith was flabbergasted that he asked her to be his girlfriend from 1,500 miles away. Jake and Faith share a similar kind and compassionate nature, always rooting for the underdogs and never missing an opportunity to encourage someone who needs it. Jake never misses an adventurous opportunity, so it’s a good thing Faith can fly by the seat of her pants. They both love exploring and traveling to venture out and see the world, learning new things, and trying new restaurants. Faith and Jake love golfing and bowling together. They love spending time with their furry son, Bruiser. They love finding the hottest spot in town to tackle wings or Mexican food, and let’s not forget their dedication to fitness and meal prepping together. They both give Jesus the credit for their amazing long-distance love story. They moved to Colorado in February, a month or so after they were married in Iowa, where they currently reside with their bestest boy, Bruiser.
