FAQs

Question

Where is Lake Almanor?

Answer

Lake Almanor is about a two-hour drive from Reno. For those traveling from out of state, we recommend flying into Reno and then driving from there. We encourage everyone to rent a car or carpool with others. If you'd like help connecting with people to carpool, feel free to reach out to us!

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

For lodging, we recommend booking a rental through Vrbo or Airbnb near the peninsula. If you prefer a hotel stay, there are additional options in Chester (a 15-minute drive) or Susanville (about 35 minutes away).

Question

Will there be a ceremony?

Answer

We’re eloping this August to celebrate our 10 years together, so there won’t be a traditional ceremony at our reception in September — just a whole lot of fun and celebration! We can’t wait to raise a glass and party with all of you!

Question

Will there be speeches and dances?

Answer

Oh yes! We’ve got some heartfelt speeches and plenty of dancing in store — so get ready to laugh, cheer, and hit the dance floor!

Question

Will there be a bar?

Answer

No traditional bar here! Instead of a standard bar, we'll have refreshing beer kegs and bottles of wine to keep the celebration flowing. Cheers to good times and great company!

Question

What's for dinner?

Answer

Buffet style Mexican food catered by a local restaurant!

Question

Do I have to play pickleball?

Answer

Nope, no pressure! But if you’re up for some friendly competition and laughs, we’d love to see you join in. Grab a paddle and let’s have some fun! Team names and matching outfits are highly encouraged!

Question

What if I have questions about bringing additional guests?

Answer

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us directly! While we can’t guarantee additional guests due to space limitations, we’re happy to see if we can accommodate any special requests. Thank you for your understanding!

Question

Is it an outside venue?

Answer

Yes! We will be outside regardless of the weather. Please plan accordingly. Even with nice weather the temps may drop after the sun goes down. We also recommend wearing shoes that you can walk through grass in.
