We met the summer before school started for Faith's Sophomore year of college and Jackson's Junior year of college at the UMD through a mutual friend who worked with us at the university dining center. We both moved up a month before school started so we had some time to get to know each other. Over time, we spent more and more time together until we decided we wanted to be together in September 2018! We've been best friends ever since.

After 4 years together, during the summer of 2022, we planned a trip to visit one of Jackson's best friends in Colorado, Scott (his best man), for Jackson's birthday! Scott told us about a great hiking trail at Roosevelt National Forest that we went on for Jackson's birthday. We had a very long and beautiful hike where we saw a moose and took tons of beautiful photos along the way. We ended at a beautiful little pond where Jackson walked Faith up to the pond to look at the beautiful view of the mountains. Jackson then got down on one knee and asked Faith to marry him and without hesitation, she said yes! It was a picture-perfect, magical moment we were lucky enough to share with a close friend who caught it all on camera.
