It all started at the gym. A few days before we officially met, my mom actually spotted Colby at the gym and casually suggested I go talk to him. I didn't, but the universe clearly had other plans. Just a few days later, we both ended up on the stair machines side by side. I was about to hop off, but then Colby jumped on next to me so I stayed. And thank goodness I did. Not long after, Colby dropped his phone on the stairs, and I looked over, smiled, and laughed a little. That’s when I finally broke the ice and said, “The stairs are like the worst part of the day.” Funny enough, that “worst part” turned out to be the best part because it was the day I met my future husband. My mom (who was there at the gym with me that day) ended up striking up a conversation with Colby and before we knew it, the three of us were downtown grabbing dinner… with my grandma too. Yep, our first date included my mom and grandma. From that day on, we’ve been inseparable and it’s safe to say it was love at first sight.
