Back in September of 2018, we met at Faith's sister Hope's 21st birthday party. Hope tells Faith, "Your future husband is coming here tonight." Faith then flagged her off and was like, "Girl please, try again" LOL! Then here comes Christian, just a kind, funny, and all-around cool guy. At the party, they're just talking and just getting to know each other. Then, they set up a group outing to go bowling some friends who were at the party. From there, they hung out almost every weekend with each other, along with friends and siblings. The journey takes off from there. By October of 2019, that's when they grew closer. They had both lost loved ones literally 2 days apart from each other. As a result, they began to lean on one another, all while grieving. Their friendship blossomed from there. Faith began attending Bible Study at Christian Stronghold (Christian's church) weekly, and they continued to grow in the Lord and grow as friends. Fast forward to December 2019, little did they know their lives would begin to draw even closer. The year of 2020 officially began, and the pandemic followed shortly after. At this point, Christian and Faith were still enjoying the journey of knowing one another. Life then hit fast. They found out they were going to be parents in November of 2020 (Faith almost 3 months by this time). Lord knows this was the last thing they thought would happen. Reality sunk in... Both of them being in the Lord and how their parents raised them, Christian and Faith knew what was expected of them at this point. Both went through the spiritual discipline at both of the churches where they serve and were committed to repentance and restoration. Their son Carter was born in June of 2021. Life took a whole new direction for them in an amazing way. Through the tears, talks, growing pains, learning each other intently without clouded judgement, and truly leaning on God, their parents, and wise counsel, God used their situation for His glory. Granted, they were not perfect, and weren't right all the time, but one thing for sure, they knew that they wanted to honor God with how they raised their son, as well as how they conducted their lives during that season. As a result, God brought them together. So, here they are engaged and anticipating the day when we say, "I DO" on May 23, 2025 and just grateful for all God has done. Christian and Faith could not have done this without their village. Their parents have truly given them the greatest example known to man of what godly marriage is and how God honors their covenants. From all that the world says about marriage today, even after having a baby before then, they know their story is not common. However, we serve a God who makes all things new. Through healing, premarital counseling, and prayer, God made it all possible for them to make it this far, and they know He did not bring them this far to leave them. "We still believe God has much in store and we want to continue to honor Him with our lives and in our marriage. This is just the beginning to our forever!" - Christian and Faith
