I was still in high school, or newly graduated. 19 years old I remember that much. I had met her previously through an at the time friend and gotten to know her fairly well. She was a good friend which I liked to have potential partners be before moving forward ( not that I was a man who kept a stable ) Anyway,Sad and heavy on the bottle, fresh out of a 6 month relationship. Before this I had never had a relationship last more than a month and actually mean something. I didn’t date for sport, I was looking for a life partner. I was at Walmart and remembered this one particular girl I thought was cool because of a movie we watched together, a movie she showed me. Edward Scissorhands. Having been a fan of Johnny Depp for a while I really enjoyed it, as well as being a fan of Tim Burton’s. Anyway, I saw an Edward Pop Vinyl collectible figure. ( if you know you know ) and it made me immediately think of her. Then I started thinking of all the other times we had shared previously, and the things we have in common. We both like EDM and lots of different music in general. We both like video games and ramen and the sounds of the ocean, cats, dogs, cars, color, nature and so much more. I had realized that this might be my life partner. So I called her and invited her to dinner and I gave her the figure, and then the rest is history.
