For a quicker, more efficient way to see the city, we recommend booking a Boston Duck Tour. Historical tours aboard replica World War II amphibious DUKW ("Duck") vehicles, you'll be able to see sights around Boston by land and by water. Departure location downtown is conveniently right in front of the New England Aquarium.
Oasis in the middle of the city. Perfect for a nice stroll on your way to or from Back Bay.
Visit the Prudential Center ("the Pru"), Copley Square (where the Boston Marathon finishes), or walk along the old brownstones on Newbury Street for shopping.
America's most beloved ballpark (though we're partial to Minute Maid Park in Houston). We saw the Astros play here once when they were really bad, and once when they were good. For those interested in staying in town after the wedding, the Boston Red Sox will be playing the New York Yankees September 11-14.
Our favorite weekend picnic spot. Across the water from downtown. You can either take the Blue Line to Maverick Station and walk, or take the Water Taxi across for the best view of Downtown Boston.
The Cannoli Wars: Mike's Pastry vs. Modern Pastry. Both located on Hanover St. in close proximity to one another. Try a cannoli from one of each for yourself and weigh-in which is superior. We've never been able to decide!
Try the bag lunch special, $11 for small sandwich, drink and chips (it used to be $6 or $7 but still a good deal in this inflationary environment). Find a spot to eat either on Atlantic Ave, by Boston City Hall, or in Post Office Square (weather permitting). Just like how we used to do during the work week. Our Favorites: Chicken Salad Sandwich or the South Street Cafe Special
