We first met at our church in 2013. He approached me and asked me out to dinner. I politely declined but we remained friendly acquaintances over the years. Last year, we both were experiencing a spiritual pull toward one another that surpassed feelings or our flesh. The Lord had an appointed time for our relationship to form and there wasn't anything Ralph or myself could do to stop it. Our lives had been interrupted with constant, unprovoked thoughts and dreams of one another. This past September, we began to talk over the phone and share with one another what we were experiencing. Those initial conversations led us to the realization that the Lord had redirected our paths to cross once again and our prayers to one day meet our soul mates had finally been answered. From the very first conversation we had, we understood that the purpose God had in mind for our lives when he formed us in our mother's wombs were contingent upon our union. Being the purpose driven individuals we are, it wasn't long before the Lord began to answer our questions regarding fulfilling our destinies and walking in our true purposes - and the answer was marriage. We should all be striving for God's PERFECT will for our lives and not be so consumed with fear of the worse outcomes or what others might think that we rob ourselves of the freedom we could experience by living in the perfect will of God despite anything else. June 24th is our wedding day but it's so much more than that! It's the start of a ministry, it's chains and generational curses being broken, it's lives being transformed and souls being saved. it's two individuals sent to do the will of the Father and needing each other to do it.
