Maybe the best trained staff in the world. Spectacular New Orleans style fine dining. Electric blue martinis that match the color of the famous building. Right across the street from a cemetery (naturally). AND it's in the heart of the historic Garden District, uptown. Maybe the most beautiful (and wealthiest) part of the city. So after you eat, you can walk around and admire all the gorgeous multi-million dollar mansions!
Perhaps the best cocktail bar in the city. Dressy casual with table service. May need a reservation. This is the perfect place to try one of New Orleans two official cocktails - The Sazerac is a strong whisky drink. The French 75 is a light, refreshing champagne drink. Also has great food!
Located in the bottom of the historic Hotel Monteleone, this bar literally rotates as you enjoy a drink. Very popular spot with terrific bartenders. Hard to get a seat at the small bar itself, but patrons are encouraged not to sit more that 30 minutes so as to give others a chance.
This rooftop bar at the top of the Hotel Pontchartrain has perhaps the best view of uptown New Orleans and its streetcars down below on St Charles Ave. Downstairs in the same hotel is a piano bar with live music nightly. Either way, you can't lose!
NOT a country club in the traditional sense. Used to be clothing optional. Very LGBTQ+ friendly. Wild drag brunches with bottomless mimosas. Then get in the pool that features a full bar!
A historic New Orleans bar with a massive porch to enjoy cocktails when the weather is nice (which it will be in November). Inside looks like a church. Watch the street cars drive by on beautiful St Charles avenue!
A fancy bar and restaurant at the top of a downtown skyscraper. The whole thing slowly rotates for the most spectacular views of the Crescent City!
This is a historic outdoor coffee shop on the outskirts of the French Quarter. (Maybe cash only). Enjoy piping hot beignets (think square donuts with loads of powdered sugar) and a cafe au lait. Or, if you’re like me, a cold chocolate milk. Don’t wear black or you’ll be covered in white powder!
This is a world class museum. Perfect for history buffs. Over the years they've added entire buildings to it. You’ll need a whole day to explore its many exhibits. Maybe more!
There is great shopping on this uptown street. Walk to plenty of boutique stores, restaurants, bars, and coffee shops!
Learn the history of Mardi Gras while touring the giant warehouse where the elaborate floats are built and housed! What could be better?!
