We met as 15 year olds in our sophmore biology class at Buchanan. We sat next to each other and worked as lab partners (and when we say worked as lab partners, we mean Martin cheated off of me for the whole year). He would never talk to me (like at all) and I could never figure out why. We saw each other around campus, but never really hung out until the end of senior year. We went on TONS of floating trips, hung out at a plethora of parties and "the pit" at Willow community college. After many years of being friends and one previous failed attempt at dating, we officially unfriend-zoned each other when we were 25 and it was the best decision we ever made!

Our friend, Ashley called me and said she wanted to have a girls day and maybe we could shop for my bridesmaid dress for her wedding. After a day of shopping and wine we got a text from Ashley's now husband, Andrew, asking if we wanted to double date and grab dinner at Pismo's. I text Martin and he was all in, but asked if we could come pick him up first. When we arrived at Martin's house I first saw strings of lights and a line of people. A photographer rushed over to the car and started snapping pics and I started crying happy tears while yelling at Ashley for not telling me to brush my hair prior to our arrival. A line of our closest friends and family each held a sign with a photo and a memory of Martin and I and I had to collect each one leading me to Martin. My Mom was last in line and her sign marked that day, February 9th, 2019 as our best memory yet! When I reached Martin we were both crying so many happy tears, he couldn't get through his speech that he had prepared for me, so he cut it off and simply asked, "Will you Marry me??" I gave him the biggest YES of my life!!!
