Best Person - Ezra
One of Ezra's best friends since they both thought they were lesbians (spoiler: wrong). Alex is Ezra's closest friend from their days in high school youth group; a person who has shared in Ezra's triumphs, failures, and silly moments. They are the perfect Jewish friend: someone to argue and have educated discussions with, only to discover that you're both probably kind of right.
Best Person - Ezra
Parker and Ezra have been friends (well, closer to siblings) since the most awkward days of high school. From cutting Laney's dogs' hair to letting Ezra shave his, to entering adult life and telling Ezra when they're being stupid, Parker is a friend and a brother very close to their heart.
Best Person - Ezra
Ezra has known Mac since their first year of college. Despite moving away and choosing different paths, they have maintained their close friendship with video chats (something that we didn't know we'd all have to get good at). Their advice never fails to help Ezra make tough decisions and their positive energy always lifts their spirits.
Best Person - Jo
Luke and Jo's friendship began with the hermit down the hall trope. The dorms weren't easy for everyone to move into and our situation was no different. Through the drama of the first couple of weeks Luke, Ser, and Jo built a bond involving many a night sharing rooms and laughing. Our friendship shares many common interests (mostly being nerds together) and we'd have it no other way than to be sharing this life moment with a talented, shy, and reclusive bean.
Best Person - Jo
And they were roommates... After an unpleasant experience with a dormmate, Jo was feeling somewhat defeated after having exhausted all friend-making abilities: enter Ser. Ser was gracious enough to allow a roommate to make the daunting move one hallway away and in doing so gave a grateful someone the opportunity to laugh until sides ached into the wee hours. Neither of us expected how quickly our friendship would grow or how much Ser might love Scooter (the emotional support Lizard). For this both Scooter and his human thank a best friend in Eugene (and hopefully for life) for extending an olive branch.
Best Person - Jo
Truly one of the best friends one could ask for, Courtney has been a powerhouse of support and the biggest hype-woman Jo could've asked for. After a brief stint as life-long friends Courtney and Jo's relationship quickly grew akin to siblings. The world would not be the same without the level of energy, grace (clumsy grace), and the infectious smile that she brings into the world.
Flower Child
Chelsea provided us with a safe living situation and a friendship that will last. Her caring personality puts a smile on our faces whenever we're blessed with her presence. Indulgence in late movie nights and light hang-outs are a common occurrence; besides, we all know that the best friends are those with who you can sit around and do nothing with! Sharing everyday life with Chelsea has been a joy, even if we are just going to the laundromat.
Flower Child
Becca is a dear friend of both Ezra and Jo. They became friends during the pandemic and have spent many hours in each others' COVID bubbles with Chelsea Godon, Becca's roommate and the other flower child.
Officiant
Cantor Debbi is not only Ezra's employer but a friend to both Ezra and Jo. Debbi's experience as an officiant for non-traditional but equally meaningful Jewish lifecycle rituals paired with her relationship to the couple makes her the perfect person to make Ezra and Jo officially family.
