We kind of met before freshman (freshwoman) year of college. She sent me a friend request on Facebook and I remember seeing that she was from Tacoma, WA, and thinking where the heck is that? I ended up accepting her friend request because like all kids headed to college you try and meet people before you actually get on campus. So the first time we actually spoke was after she posted a comment on Facebook talking about her love for Ruby Tuesday's. I hadn't been there that often, with the last time being when I took my friend to prom and I didn't remember it being that great. So I commented on her status like who really loves Ruby Tuesday's this much. That conversation turned into phone conversations, which turned into us hanging out and going to a party...where somebody got beat up and shots were fired and we were sent running for our lives. Fast forward over a decade later I went from running after her to avoid violence, to running after her to marry me. P.S. Despite what she says, I wasn't trying to get with her when we first met, but she was definitely trying to get with me.
First and foremost, the proposal would have been impossible if it wasn't for the help I got from Mynikah's sisters, Dreema and Keyoshia. Getting to the story...We were in Washington for the family Christmas trip and ended up going out to the Seattle Mariner's Stadium for their enchanted Christmas event. Mynikah figured we were just going there as a part of the family festivities, but I had bigger plans. So after transversing the stadium lights and holiday music we ended at Santa's photo booth. Before our picture he asked us both what we wanted for Christmas, Mynikah said she wanted student loan forgiveness (not a bad choice at all) and I told Santa I just wanted her. To help with that wish, good ol' Saint Nick popped out a ring for me to pop the question....and of course, she said yes (I mean who wouldn't?). Back story -- Dreema had been helping me for a while finding the right ring and keeping her in the dark. Keyoshia joined in on the festivities once we were all in Washington, helping create the master plan of where to propose. The two of them also go the ring to Santa to have it ready for the big question...so again it wouldn't have been possible without them (You guys rock!).
