I (Divine) met my sweetheart Carline Claire on Facebook. I sent her a friend request as I thought I knew her years back in Cameroon. After months of asking questions like did you school in CCAS Kumba ? Did you school in Kumba? Did you go to Presbyterian church? I came to find out that we have never met each other. We were friends on Facebook for more than 6 months without communicating. I wrote and she ignored my messages but I kept writing her in the hopes that one day she might reply. Suddenly I started seeing how my prayers for a wife after years of searching was answer. She finally decided to reply to my messages after months of ignoring me and we started chatting daily. We became friends for couple of months before dating. From mistakenly her to be someone I knew years back to seeing the qualities of a wife I have been searching. She is beautiful, kind hearted, great cook, family oriented, believer, friendly, honest, self confident, bold, intelligent, career oriented etc. I saw all these qualities without meeting her in person, her social media said it all. Immediately I saw these qualities I felt in love and knew this was the right lady.

Divine texted me on Facebook thinking he knew me from somewhere and I really wasn’t into chatting to strangers on Facebook so I reply that I don’t know him and then stop texting him for months. He will text and text and I won’t reply as I had my own issues I was dealing with and making friends on Facebook wasn’t my priority. After ignoring Divine for months, I decided to talk to him and don’t ask me why because I don’t know but something touched me to text him back on Facebook after ignoring his messages for over 6months. When we started talking, he told me again that he would like to marry. I was going through a lot & all I needed was someone to confide in. I wasn’t looking for a relationship nor marriage. in-fact marriage was the last thing on my mind. His proposal scared me away so I stopped talking to him for a while. Then he realised I needed a friend instead so he put his feelings aside and became the friend I needed. He was there for me through my worst days and was a good listener. He is such a wonderful person with a beautiful soul. Divine sees good in everyone. You can’t be around Divine without succeeding. He has this force that I can’t even describe. When you are close to him, he will do everything he can to help you succeed and be the best vision of yourself. We became friends and was talking on the phone everyday. With time I started falling in love with him and I couldn’t go a day without hearing his voice because he was always so positive and full of energy. We went on vacations together and got to know each other more better. For the first time in my life I wasn’t worried about the future and what it holds. With Divine I felt safe & happy so when he asked for me to marry him again on the 22nd Of January 2019, I was so ready and excited of lifetime with this man. Divine is God fearing, ambitious, smart, caring, good cook, family oriented and has a heart of gold. I have never met a man who loves me the way Divine does and at thesame time loves God.

There is an African proverb wish says “ He who sees a beautiful lady, falls in love with her and see the qualities of a wife in her and if you don’t let her know, you will end up serving drinks to guests at her wedding day instead of being the groom” I didn’t want to be that kind of man so immediately I sent her a message and told her I love you. I also told her that I wish to marry her. I didn’t say be my girlfriend or lets date. I skip all those stages to telling her to be my wife.

Her first response was silence, no words, no greetings, communication stopped. Infact she ignored me for more than 3 months. While ignoring me and my text messages on Facebook. The impatient Eyong Divine developed patience overnight, I came to understand that, in the game of love there is one rule, “you don’t hit the player you change the game plan” so I went to plan B, I sent her a message saying if you don’t wish to marry me at least answer my greetings. Her response was “ I don’t reply men who showed up from no where and want to marry a lady they barely know”, I replied back to her saying this “ If you are walking and you see a diamond on the road, which is very unusual, will you leave it and start wondering if it is diamond or not or will you grab it then keep then tell people you have a diamond” so you are the diamond I found, so I won’t let anyone grab it before I do.

Carline came to visit me in January 2019 and we decided to go visit her uncle in Maryland and my godmother. We flew from Michigan to Maryland and while we were staying at the hotel I went on my knees and asked her to marry me. She immediately said yes and from there I became a fiancé for the first time of my life. I knew she was the one from the first day I set my eyes on her and I can’t wait to call her my wife.
