Courtney is Mackenzie's little sister. She is very thankful not only to live close to her sister, but to have a close relationship. They have a shared obsession with all things Disney, and would always be at Disneyland if left to their own devices. You can find them together at the movie theater on the opening night of every Marvel movie.

Chris Young

Groomsman

Daniel and Chris work at the same Trader Joe's together. They are often scheduled on the same shift, and with Chris around it is never a dull moment. Somehow, the constant back and forth witty banter and bad jokes evolved into friendship. They share many interests, such as video games, camping, and Dungeons & Dragons.

Lauren Dykstra

Mackenzie and Lauren met each other on their very first day of Kindergarten. They both were in Girl Scouts and Youth Group together, and have many wonderful memories of sleepovers filled with Sims and Mac & Cheese. Lauren and her husband Nathaniel live in Minnesota with their adorable baby Paxton, and their cat Mingus the Dingus.

Jeremy Mackling

Jeremy is Mackenzie's little brother (and will always be, despite being several inches taller than her). He is currently studying Kinesiology at the SRJC. Most of Jeremy and Mackenzie's conversations together involve quoting their favorite show, "The Office". Jeremy loves talking Video Games with Daniel, and having Daniel give him self-defense tips!

Ellen Morton

Mackenzie's family moved next door to Ellen's family when she was in 4th Grade. They grew up together, and have many memories of attending Youth Group together, trick-or-treating and spending too much money at Starbucks. Although they now live on opposite sides of the state, Ellen will always be "Next Door Ellen" to Mackenzie.

Keegan Ruland

Daniel and Keegan met while working together at Trader Joe’s. While they didn’t work together too often at the same location, the two became closer when Daniel had asked Keegan to join his Dungeons & Dragons campaign. When Daniel decided to be a Mate at Trader Joe’s, Keegan was one of the first to offer his support for his decision.

Ellen Doty

Ellen and Mackenzie first met in Sunday School, but became close friends in Middle School. Mackenzie and Daniel love visiting Ellen, her husband Jesse, and their cat Cassandra at their home in West Sacramento. Fun fact: Mackenzie and Ellen tied for 1st place in the 4th Grade Geography Bee, but in the tie-breaker round, Ellen reigned triumphant!

Jesse Doty

Groomsman

Jesse is Ellen Doty’s husband, and is a friend to both Mackenzie and Daniel. Daniel and Jesse first met at a wedding where they were their girlfriend's dates. With their shared love of RPG’s, video games, and general ridiculousness, they hit it off immediately. It is often said they both sound like grizzled veterans when they talk about various Dungeon and Dragons war stories.

Monika Bauermeister

Monika and Mackenzie met in 2nd grade, and were "worst enemies" for a few years. But since Middle School, they have been as close as can be. They participated in Civil War reenactments, shared the same Kitchen in their high school Culinary Arts courses, and worked as Barbacks at Kunde Family Winery. Today Monika and Mackenzie enjoy watching movies and drinking beer together.

Tori and Daniel have known each other since 2nd grade. While they have known each other for a long time, they became closer after high school. They were housemates when Daniel started dating Mackenzie. Coincidentally, Tori and Mackenzie were both working at Kunde Family Winery at the time.

Francisco Pereira

Daniel and Francisco (Frankie) met in middle school. Frankie is a quiet man of many mysteries. So mysterious in fact that neither one of them really remember how they became friends. It just sort of... happened. Many games were played, adventures were had, and probably way too much money was spent on "In The Groove" at Scandia over many summers. Frankie was responsible for introducing Daniel to Taekwondo. His reason? So he could beat Daniel up in sparring class.

Isabella McNeely RIP

We are devastated to share that Isabella passed away unexpectedly and suddenly on May 18, 2021. We miss her dearly. Isabella is Daniel's cousin. Despite living on opposite sides of California, they became very close. They don’t get to see each other as often as they would like, so when they are together they make the most out of that time. When Daniel and Isabella were younger, they would often try to sneak into the other parent’s car and leave with them. Sadly, this plan always failed.

Gabe Palomares

Gabe and Mackenzie originally met online on the forum "Pixar Planet". Gabe, an Australian native, studied abroad at Sacramento State while Mackenzie was studying at UC Davis. They became close during those overlapping months. Despite the distance, they remain Best Friends. Gabe is currently on the path to U.S. Citizenship, and he and his wife Lauren have been to every Disney Park in the world.

Taylor

Taylor's family is close friends with the Macklings. Taylor's hobbies include Cheerleading, Softball, English Horseback Riding, and annoying her big brother Carter. Taylor loves going Camping with her family, and her favorite food is Sushi. When she grows up, Taylor wants to be a Police Officer or 911 Dispatcher.

Matthew is Mackenzie's cousin. Matthew's favorite colors are "all the boy colors in the Rainbow". He loves to eat Mac & Cheese and Hot Dogs, and his favorite dessert is Ice Cream. He also loves Monster Trucks and Basketball. Matthew wants to be a Doctor and a Football Player when he grows up. Matthew is very happy because he has a new puppy named Copper!

Aria

Aria is Mackenzie's cousin. Aria's favorite color is Red, and she loves to eat Strawberries and Popsicles. She wants to be a Hula Dancer and Ballerina when she grows up. When asks what makes her special, Aria said that she is "Strong like Wonder Woman!"

Tucker Alan

Tucker is this son of groomsmen Christopher Young. Tucker’s favorite color is green. He loves to eat peanut butter jelly and peanut sandwiches and cheese pizza. When Tucker grows up he wants to be Spiderman. When we asked Tucker what makes him special he said all of his toys!

Pastor Brian J. Claasen

Brian was the Pastor at Mackenzie's congregation, Bethlehem Lutheran Church. He has been retired since Spring of this year. He enjoys spending time with his wife Laurie, family, and especially his Grandchildren!
