I used to try to get Evvie's attention back when we worked together at KeyBank. I knew of her as the cute analyst from the 3rd floor but I knew better than to mix dating with my work life. In a shocking turn of events I left Key in September of 2019 and matched with said cute Evvie on a fun little dating app called Hinge. I immediately asked her out and we decided to meet after a Chiefs game at a restaurant called Beer Kitchen in Westport. Unbeknown to Evvie I had consumed a couple tall boy Busch lights and some touchdown shots prior to our date before I hit a light jog to our date. I was pretty nervous but I will never forget how little I ate because I didn't shut up the entire time we were at dinner. I then walked her to her car like a gentlemen and apparently she wasn't sick of me. It was pretty wild to be dating right at the start of COVID and since we didn't think we had enough on our plate yet I decided to go ahead and adopt our dog-son Bear in April of 2020. Her dog Benny and Bear quickly became best friends. Fast forward to spring of 2023 and I finally convinced Evvie to move in with me to the condo I was living in (RIP West Plaza Condo pool). Shortly after I decided to sell the condo and we moved into a tiny rental house over in Waldo while we shopped for a house. I convinced her that we should wait until 2024 to get engaged and then I popped the question while we were in Hermann, MO for her birthday weekend getaway in August 2023 (I know, what a liar!). I am still not sure why but she said yes and we had a magical wine filled weekend celebrating. We ended up getting our house in November of 2023 and we cannot wait to celebrate our wedding with all of our family and best friends!!! The last 4 years have been a wild ride and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with my best friend.
