After seventeen years together, Evonne & Patrick are finally tying the knot! The two met by happenstance when Evonne walked into a bar looking for her friend, Kathy. Patrick asked why Evonne was looking for Kathy, and Evonne, being the spunky Jersey girl that she is, told him to mind his business. Unbeknownst to her, this handsome fellow was her friend’s brother, as being as protective as he is, he wanted to know why someone was looking for his sister. Some time passed before the two crossed paths again. Patrick stopped by Kathy’s house, rang the door bell, and as fate would have it, Evonne answered the door. “You!” the two exclaimed. They had remembered each other from that night at the bar. After clearing the air and sharing a few laughs, it wasn’t long before they realized the universe obviously had something in store for them. Years later, in 2012, while on a cruise to Hawaii, and after seeing how happy Evonne made his son, Patrick’s father, Pete, asked him, “When are you going to make an honest woman out of her? When are you going to marry her?” Patrick promised his father, “Soon, Dad. I promise.” Sadly, Pete passed away in 2015. But, on Christmas Eve, 2017, in a card written from Pete, Evonne read, “Evonne, will you marry my son?” It took him some time, but Patrick made good on his promise to his father, and promised his heart to Evonne forever. With her eyes filled with tears and her heart filled with love, Evonne said, “Yes!” Now, in just a few short months, the two will be married at their favorite place— the campground they call their “second home,” and where they’ve nourished their love for one another over the years.
