Alex & Lauren met each other on the dating app Bumble. They both nervously chatted on there for a while before moving on to texting, then facetime, and two weeks after their initial match Alex asked Lauren out on a date!

First Date

Answer

Alex and Lauren had a very interesting first date to say the least. Their initial plan was to check out the East Tennessee Historical Society and Museum together, but it just so happened that they were closed. Alex scrambled to find somewhere different and they settled on going to Mountain Oddities and afterward heading dinner. They didn't really know what to expect when they got there. The store had taxidermy animals, things in jars full of formaldehyde, and so much more. Alex was concerned that Lauren would not want to go on another date after going to such a weird place, but they both actually had a great time and shockingly she was still interested in him! That was a date that neither of them will ever forget!

Making it Official

Answer

After lots of texting and dates, Alex asked Lauren if she would be his girlfriend on the way to meet his parents for dinner (Lauren said yes obviously). After dinner with his parents, Lauren asked him if he would be okay going with her to get flowers to put on her grandmother's grave. When they got to the gravesite, Lauren was just chatting about her grandmother to Alex when he knew that they were going to have something special. He drove her home and right there in the driveway is where Alex told Lauren that he loved her.

The Proposal

For months Lauren said that all she wanted for her birthday was to have both his and her families finally meet in person. Alex had came up with a plan to grant Lauren's birthday wish while simultaneously popping the question. Alex got everyone together at the park and did not tell Lauren he had arranged a family get-together until they were almost there, but little did she know that there was going to be a bigger surprise in store that day. After saying hello to everyone and introducing the families to each other, Alex and Lauren walked to a secluded area with a swing so he gave her a birthday card. Inside was a heart-shaped paper with coordinates for the very swing they were sitting on. Once Lauren had unfolded the paper and looked it over, Alex popped the question and Lauren said yes!

Why the 14th?

They started dating on the 14th of August, got engaged on the 14th of July, and wanted to continue the tradition by getting married on the 14th of September!
