Our Story
Martyn and Evelyn’s story began when they were just 16 and 17. They first noticed each other at a Halloween party. Evelyn remembers sitting with her friends when Martyn walked in, immediately catching her eye. For Martyn, it was seeing Evelyn across the room, standing in a corner laughing with her friends.
What started as small talk quickly turned into hours of conversation, a little dancing, and the start of something special. Evelyn waited all night for Martyn to ask for her number, but his shy nature kept him from it. She went home thinking she might never see him again—until the next morning, when a Facebook message from Martyn popped up asking for her number.
When Martyn graduated high school, life threw them their first challenge—he moved to UC Davis. The distance wasn’t easy, but Martyn visited whenever he could, and their love only grew stronger. A year later, Evelyn joined him in Sacramento at CSUS, and the rest has been their adventure together.
