Evelyn and I met at Sam's Club, I know, of all places. She happened to be shopping with her mom on that day, and I was there with a friend. Evelyn was good friends with my friend's girlfriend, so she stopped to say hi to him. I was very curious as to who this beautiful girl was! I immediately had to ask my friend who she was. After that I didn't think I would see her again. BUT the very next day, we were both at a book store in town and bumped into each other in the bible section. The Lord knew what He was doing! We started a conversation about which translation we liked best. After that day, I was definitely interested in getting to know more about Evelyn and could not wait to see her again.
Since a couple months into our relationship, I knew that Jonah was the man I wanted to marry and spend the rest of my life with. We knew marriage was our next step. Obviously, I just did not know the day. Our special day was December 25, 2018. A day I will never forget. Jonah had told me he was going out of town for Christmas with his family. Unfortunately, I had to work the very next day, so I knew I could not go along with him. With his family and my family in on it, I thought he was out of town. At the time to open gifts with my family, my sister made a new rule. Close your eyes and hold out your hands for your gift. I listened. She brought out one gift. Eyes closed, hands out. Another gift. Eyes closed, hands out. The third time, I closed my eyes and held out my hands, this time was different. Everything went quiet. As I smell Jonah's cologne and feel his hands on mine, I was confused. I open my eyes and Jonah stands right in front of my and began to kneel on one knee. Our forever started that night and I will always be forever grateful for this moment in time.
We both would like to give our sincere thank you to each and every one of you! You have all played a special part of our lives, together and individually! We look forward to having you, alongside us, as we celebrate our day.
