Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Evelyn Vermeulen and Jason Harris
Welcome to Antwerpen! There are so many things to do in and around the city and Belgium. Too many to list, so here are some of our favorites. If you're looking for advice, please reach out to us. Jay loves using Wikivoyage for trip planning and seat61.com for train travel in Europe.
De Koninck - Antwerp City Brewery

De Koninck - Antwerp City Brewery

291 Mechelsesteenweg, Antwerpen, Vlaams Gewest 2018, Belgium

The first place Evy took Jay when they visited her home town Antwerp. The interactive tour is quite interesting, but let's be honest, we're all here for the beer!

Rent a bike!

Rent a bike!

Belgium

Explore Antwerp by bike like a true local. Ask any person from Antwerp, the best way to get around the city is by bike. There are many different options to rent bikes with very different systems. We prefer the city bikes Velo, because they are very budget friendly and there are many stations all over the city. You pay a set fee for a day or a week, which allows you to make unlimited 30 minute rides. You will definitely see the Velo bikes all around.

MAS - Museum aan de Stroom

MAS - Museum aan de Stroom

1 Hanzestedenplaats, Antwerpen, Vlaams Gewest 2000, Belgium

This museum is quite special. Even if you're not into exhibitions, it is definitely worth to visit the area. It is a very peculiar building situated on 't Eilandje where you can have a stroll along the little marina. You can even enter the museum and go all the way up the escalators for free! On the rooftop you will have the most amazing view of Antwerp city.

Leftbank

Leftbank

Frederik van Eedenplein, Antwerp, 2050, Belgium

See Antwerp from the other side, from the left bank or 'Linkeroever' as the locals call it. Take the pedestrian tunnel and walk all the way to the other side underneath the Schelde river! Not a big fan of walking under water? You can also take the free ferry that takes you to the other side! Left bank is great for walking along the waterfront and even has a little beach to enjoy on sunny days, while taking in the Antwerp skyline.

Red Star Line Museum

Red Star Line Museum

3 Montevideostraat, Antwerpen, Vlaams Gewest 2000, Belgium

Connecting our worlds. A museum about the millions of people that emigrated to the US with this historic shipping company.

Take a train to another city

Take a train to another city

Koningin Astridplein 27, Antwerp, Flanders 2018, Belgium

Take a direct train to Brussels, Bruges, Ghent, even Amsterdam or Paris... from what is called one of the most beautiful train stations in the world, Antwerp Central Station. You can buy tickets online or at the machines in the station.

For all the days along the way
