She said... They say, momma knows best and I guess the saying is true! I met Norma, Gaby's mother, at work and we became really good friends. One day I saw a photo of Gaby. and jokingly told Norma that he would be mine! I would often go to Norma's house parties. At one of the parties, I finally met Gaby. That night, we talked, drank and danced.   At the end of the night, he offered to take me home. When we said our goodbyes, I gave him my number, but HE DIDN'T CALL! I would text him and invite him out, but we could not get the timing right. One day, He posted on Facebook that he was selling coquito. I LOVE COQUITO!  I messaged him for some, then for another. The time was right because we formed a friendship and our friendship grew to love and here we are today! He said... Our story is not the typical boy meets girl story, but it's my favorite because it's the story of how I met Evelyn. One day my mother was hosting a get-together in her home for her friends and while I wasn't particularly interested, the thought of food and drinks pulled me in. That's the first time I saw Evelyn. SHE GOT MY ATTENTION!!! Thinking of that day brings a smile to my face. I thought of all of the times Mom invited me out with her friends and I didn't want to go. Talk about missed opportunities! That evening Evelyn and I talked, danced and drank and when the evening was over, I offered to take her home. It was a great night and to make it better, I got her number. I wish I could say that the rest is history, but our timing was off. Evelyn would ask me out but I would turn her down. We didn't keep in touch until a Facebook post provided the opportunity we needed to reconnect. I was making and selling "coquito". She asked for some, twice! From then on we texted and spoke every day... and we are still writing our story!
