We're Getting Married!

Cam and Evelyn met one evening in Austin in 2022. Cam was out with friends visiting from Michigan, while Evelyn was out with friends of her own. A mutual friend from work introduced the two groups at Buford's, and what started as an ordinary night quickly became the beginning of something special. When they first met, Evelyn introduced herself, but Cam somehow didn't catch her name. In fact, he'd never even heard the name "Evelyn" before! They spent the evening talking, laughing, and eventually made their way to the dance floor. Cam offered to buy Evelyn a drink, but she politely declined. Instead, he asked her to dance, where he proceeded to perform what Evelyn still insists was the world's worst two-step. Thankfully, he made up for his lack of rhythm with his sense of humor. As luck would have it, one of their mutual friends captured a video of that very first dance. Looking back, it's become one of their favorite memories because it perfectly captures what their relationship has always been about—laughing together. They had no idea that the first time they danced together would become the beginning of a lifetime of dances still to come. Their first official date was taking their dogs to the dog park, and from there, the rest was history. A few months later, after an evening ice skating at Austin's annual outdoor rink at the Long Center, Cam asked Evelyn to be his girlfriend. They loved that memory so much that they made it a tradition to go ice skating together every year around their anniversary. In December 2025, they continued that tradition once again. This time, however, Cam convinced Evelyn they were meeting friends at the Long Center. As they walked up the hill overlooking the Austin skyline, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. When Evelyn turned around, both of their families—from Michigan and Houston—were there waiting to celebrate the surprise together. Since that first night at Buford's, they've built a life filled with laughter, adventure, traditions, and countless unforgettable memories. Their wedding isn't the beginning of their story—it's another beautiful chapter in the life they've already built together. We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter with all of you.
