We first met each other in the spring of 2016, but didn’t really hit it off until the Fall. Upon walking by the circulation desk at the library, Chris spotted Eveline’s “Smell the Music” laptop sticker from a record store in Georgia. A trip to a record store that weekend followed, leading to countless exchanges of jazz & hip-hop music over facebook, lively conversations about Camus & Vonnegut, and comical recounts of our frustrations with the United States. Shared experiences and interests quickly blossomed into a strong friendship that lasted through a summer of being apart and Chris moving to New York for graduate school. However, to our utmost inconvenience, amidst all the significant changes taking place in our lives, we had both developed feelings for each other, and started dating while Chris was still in New York. Through oodles of trips to bookstores, record shops, art museums, concerts, and ceaselessly supporting each other amidst hardships & uncertainty, we confirmed what we had already suspected: that we’d like to spend our lives together and become a family. Chris proposed on December 2nd, 2018, Eveline said yes, which brings you right up to date. See you at the wedding :)
